Step into the world of traditional Hawaiian kapa making by creating the tools that make this ancient art possible. You’ll combine an abbreviated digital design process, modern fabrication equipment, and traditional hand-finishing techniques.

Good to know
Beginners are welcome.
No previous woodworking or design experience is required. The workshop is for cultural practitioners, artists, woodworkers, makers, educators, students, and anyone interested in traditional Hawaiian arts and culture.
The $60 non-member price includes a one-day East Bay Makers Club pass. Participants may bring a preferred hardwood species; limited hardwood will be available for purchase.
Co-run by Holistic Honu Wellness Center and East Bay Makers Club. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
